How to achieve your goals in 2019

New year, new goals. Jo-Anne Oliveri shares her top four tips to help you achieve your goals in 2019.

1. Be MindFit™

Getting physically fit is a popular new year goal, but many forget about the importance of getting ‘mind fit’ too. MindFit™ is about building mental strength and stamina. It means learning from your setbacks and using them to take you and your business to the next level. As property management principals and professionals, becoming MindFit™ helps build the strength and stamina to not just stay committed to your goals, but achieve them too.

2. Know your numbers

Knowing your numbers means having control of your professional goals. Many principals prefer to bury their head in the sand when it comes to the financial side of their property management business. But, at the end of the day, it is incredibly hard to achieve your goals if you’re not measuring your progress along the way so you can make the necessary changes to your strategies. Start knowing your numbers so you will know when you have achieved your goals.

3. Have a theme for the year

Having a theme for the year can help you stay focused on your goals. To do this, reflect on what you really want this year to be about. Whether that is business growth, career advancement or work-life balance, make this your theme and weave it into every goal you create.

4. Invest in personal and professional development

To achieve your goals, you should invest in your personal and professional development. This could mean finding a mentor or coach, attending industry conferences, or enrolling in workshops outside of real estate. Doing this gives you the strategies and tools you need to be equipped and motivated to achieve your goals. The more you invest in your personal and professional development, the more you can achieve in 2019.
